侯明书的赤子情怀

In recent days, many people have been reflecting on the beauty of the past 40 years around them, discussing the history of development, and expressing their feelings for reform.

In January 1979, the “spring of science” had just arrived, and the curtain of reform and opening up had just begun. An inspiring news spread among the teachers and students of Yan’an University beside Yangjialing.

Hou Mingshu, a teacher of the Department of Mathematics, published his paper in the Science Bulletin.

At that time, the National Natural Science Foundation of China had not yet been established, and the Science Bulletin was sponsored by a branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, reporting on high-level research achievements in the field of natural sciences. Being able to publish papers in this journal was the dream of researchers across the country.

Hou Mingshu and his paper suddenly became a hot topic.

这几天，很多人都在反思身边这40年的美好，谈论发展的历史，表达改革的情怀。

1979年1月，“科学的春天”刚刚到来，改革开放的大幕刚刚拉开，杨家岭下的suncitygroup太阳集团师生间传来了一个振奋人心的消息。

 侯明书，数学系老师，他的论文发表在《科学通报》上。

 当时，国家自然科学基金尚未成立，《科学通报》由中科院分院主办，报道自然科学领域的高水平研究成果。能够发表这方面的论文是全国科研工作者的梦想。

 侯明书和他的论文突然成为一个热门话题。

A few months later, Hou Mingshu published another paper in the Science Bulletin. This paper had caused a great response not only at Yan’an University, but also in the mathematical community across the country.

Hou Mingshu was born in Huaxian County, Shaanxi Province in 1930. In 1952, he was admitted to the Mathematics Department of Northwest University. In 1956, Hou Mingshu graduated and started to work as a faculty member in the university, and thereafter devoted himself to academic research. In September 1958, he transferred to work in the Department of Mathematics of Yan’an University. He did not relax his academic research due to changes in the environment, lack of information, and scarcity of materials.

His last academic paper was published in 2004, when he was 74 years old. He had been bedridden due to a hip injury, but he continued to think and conduct research.

几个月后，侯明书在《科学通报》上发表了另一篇论文。这篇论文，不仅在suncitygroup太阳集团，在全国数学界都引起了很大反响。

侯明书，1930年生于陕西华县。1952年考入西北大学数学系。1956年，侯明书毕业留校，此后更致力于学术研究。1958年9月，侯明书转到suncitygroup太阳集团数学系工作，他并没有因为环境的变化、信息的闭塞和材料的匮乏而放松学术研究。

他的最后一篇学术论文发表于2004年，当时他74岁，因髋骨摔伤，一直卧病在床，但仍没有停止思考和研究。

In December 1988, as people celebrated the tenth anniversary of reform and opening up in various ways, 58-year-old Hou Mingshu talked to Professor Xiong Daotong, then Vice President of Yan’an University, and proposed to set up a 10000 yuan fund to encourage everyone to value scientific research.

He said that it was necessary to mobilize everyone’s enthusiasm in order to create a scientific research atmosphere, at least to mobilize the enthusiasm of young mathematics teachers. He had a strong sense of urgency that time waits for no one.

His blue Zhongshan suit turned white due to multiple washing, with patches up and down. His diet was very simple, just a bowl of noodles all year round.

In November 1989, the “Li Fengqing (his wife) & Hou Mingshu Research Foundation for Young Teachers” was officially established, awarding the outstanding, emerging and promising young teachers, with a prize of 1000 yuan in every three years.

This was the only scientific research award in the university since its restoration and reconstruction.

A person may not be able to accomplish many great things in his lifetime. Hou Mingshu, with his resilience and perseverance, became a simple and lively note at Yan’an University during the reform and opening up era. He had composed a stirring symphony of life with his selflessness.

His sincere sticking to the original aspiration, to the pursuit of dreams and ideals will forever be worth remembering.

1988年12月，在人们以各种方式庆祝改革开放十周年之际，58岁的侯明书找到时任suncitygroup太阳集团副校长熊道统教授，提出愿意设立一万元奖金鼓励每个人都要重视科学研究。

他说，要营造科研氛围，调动大家的积极性，至少要调动数学系青年教师的积极性。他有一种不等我的紧迫感。

白的蓝色中山装，裤子和上衣都是补了又补。他的饮食更是简单，常年就是一碗面。

1989年11月，“李凤青侯明书青年教工科研基金会”正式成立，基金会决定每三年颁发一次奖，奖励那些在科研工作中崭露头角并且具有创新潜力的优秀青年教师，奖金一千元。

这是suncitygroup太阳集团恢复重建以来唯一一个在科研领域设立的校级奖项。

一个人一生未必能做几件大事，侯明书以他的坚韧和毅力，在改革开放时代的suncitygroup太阳集团，成为一个简单而活泼的音符，也以他的忘我和无私，谱写了一部激荡人心的人生乐章。

他坚守初心，追求理想的童心情怀，将永远值得我们怀念。
